President

Kyriaki (Sandy) Korma

Kyriaki( Sandy) Korma is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens. She specialized in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital Agia Sophia( University of Athens, Medical School), where she worked for four years with Professor George Chrousos. She has an extensive medical experience of more than twenty years and for the last fifteen, she has been working at Mitera Hospital as a consultant.
Sandy is actively involved in volunteering and community service since 2013 with an emphasis on supporting the remote areas of Greece. She is one of the founding members of Axionhellas, with active participation in its successful operation and development, and since 2021 serves as the president.

GEORGE C. CHARONIS

Dr. Charonis is a graduate of Athens College. He studied Medicine at the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens, specialized in Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville and subspecialized in Orbitofacial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He obtained his PhD in Medicine at the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens and is President and CEO of Athens Vision Eye Institute. During the past 5 years he has been volunteering in Axion Hellas

Gerasimos (Makis) Marinis

Maria Ziouvelou

Maria Ziouvelou holds a Bachelor of Science in “Physics with Laser
Technology”, and a Masters in “Physics of Optical Communications” from Essex
University in the United Kingdom.
Since 2016, Maria is Director of Clients & Industries, Brand &
Communications and CSR in Deloitte Greece and has extensive experience in
digital and business development.
Previous to her current role, Maria has worked across 4 European countries,
with Philips Semiconductors in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, with Texas
Instruments in France and with Velti and Wappier in Greece.

Treasurer

George Kyrkenidis

He is a Mechanical Engineer specializing in energy management and automated building management.
Since 2011 he is a Certified Energy Inspector.
From 1997 to 1999, he participated as a Project manager for the construction of two private, hydroelectric power stations.
From 1999 until today, he participates as Project manager for the implementation of construction projects.
He is one of the founding members of Axion Hellas and participates voluntarily for the management of logistics and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

IOANNA MARTINOU

Ioanna Martinou is a graduate of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation (Athens College). She studied Art History at Tufts University and the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts.
She is currently involved in her family’s shipping business, where she leads the company’s various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
She also volunteers on the Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company (SYN-ENOSIS) Committee, and has been actively involved as a volunteer with Axion Hellas since 2017.

George Papavasileiou

George Papavasiliou is currently holding the position of Assistant
Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, at the School of Dentistry,
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Greece. He received his
Dental Degree from the University of Athens. He received a Certificate in
Prosthodontics and a Master of Science from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. Following that, he received his PhD from the
University of Athens, Greece. He is the Honorary Treasurer of the
European Prosthodontic Association and Member of the EPA
Specialization Committee. He is the President of the Greek
Prosthodontic Society. He is a Certified Prosthodontist from the
European Prosthodontic Association (EPA). The last 30 years he is
conducting research in biomaterials, clinical prosthodontics, esthetic dentistry
and implants. He has published over 80 scientific papers, which were cited
numerous times and received prestigious awards. He has given lectures and
scientific presentations in over 25 countries worldwide. He is a Reviewer for
the Journal of Prosthodontics, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the Journal
of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation etc.
George Papavasiliou holds a Private Practice since 1995. From 2000 he is
part of “Odontiki Anaplasi”, a practice limited to Prosthodontics, esthetic
dentistry and Implants situated near the center of Athens.

LAMBRINI KORDATOU

Η Λαμπρινή Κορδάτου έχει πτυχίο Νοσηλευτικής. Από την αποφοίτηση της και μετά εργάζεται στον τομέα της υγείας. Από το 2016, ήταν προϊσταμένη στο Κέντρο Μαστού της Ευρωκλινικής και τα τελευταία δύο χρόνια είναι Προϊσταμένη του πολυϊατρείου Ομίλου Ευρωκλινικής Αθηνών. Συμμετέχει ενεργά στις δράσεις της Axion Hellas από την ίδρυσή. Επίσης, συμμετέχει ενεργά στις δράσεις της ελληνικής αντικαρκινικής εταιρείας.

SERGIOS ARNIAKOS

Sergios is currently an executive at Latsco Shipping Limited. He has held several managerial positions in the shipping industry. Sergios started his carrier in the finance sector, in London and Athens, where
he held the position of Head of Derivatives Trading. He holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, an MSc in Marine Engineering from University College of London, and an MSc in
Shipping, Trade, and Finance from Cass Business School. Sergios is a founding member of Axion Hellas, was a member of the first Board of Directors, and has participated in many expeditions in the Aegean
and Ionian seas.

HRH Prince Nikolaos

Prince Nikolaos is a graduate of International Relations from the Brown University in the United States. During his studies, he served for one year in the British Army as a second lieutenant of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Cavalry Regiment. He has extensive experience in banking, communications and business consulting. From an early age, he has recently dedicated himself to photography and has completed several photo exhibitions in London, Doha and Melbourne. Prince Nicholas is a member of the Board of Directors of Knightsbridge Schools International, which was founded in 2008 to develop and operate a network of international schools around the world. He has been an active member of Axion Hellas since its inception.

DOROTHEOS SAMOLADAS

Dorotheos Samoladas is a corporate lawyer, managing partner of the law firm “Sarantitis”. He is a graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens with postgraduate studies (LL.M.) at the University of Southampton (UK). He has extensive activity and experience in business matters, both as a lawyer and as a BoD member of corporations. He is ranked among the recommended Greek business lawyers, by all major international legal directories (Chambers, Legal500, BestLawyers). According to a survey by BestLawyers.com, he was selected by his colleagues as the lawyer of the year 2013 for Athens in the field of Mergers & Acquisitions.

In his free time, Dorotheos Samoladas does voluntary work for Axion Hellas. From the establishment of Axion Hellas until September 2021, he was its Secretary, while now he has taken on the role of Special Advisor to the Board of Directors.

EFFY STRATAKIS

Effy Stratakis holds a BA in Psychology from Amherst College in Massachusetts and an MBA from London Business School. After her graduation in 2010 she joined the family business where she is currently the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Officer. She also continues to work in the capacity of an Investment Advisor to the family office, with a focus on Angel Investing.
In parallel, Effy serves on the Board and is an active member of Desmos Non Profit Foundation (www.desmos.org). Since 2012 she has represented her family on the Charity Branch of the Union of Greek Shipowners, and as of 2018 she sits on the Board of its’ spinoff, Syn-enosis, which is the Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company (www.syn-enosis.gr). Finally, she is a member of the board of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP)
