Vassilis Pateras


He studied shipping at Morley College (DM) London and Business Administration (BA) at the American College of London (ACL), and works in the maritime industry.

He has served in the Hellenic Navy at the Underwater Demolition Team. He is world champion of the Round Britain 2008 Power Boat Race and holder of the Round of Britain record.

He was ranked 6th in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC 2011). He has been actively involved in volunteering since 2007 as rib pilot in the Aegean islands and as head of sailing missions since 2014.

Aigli Zellou

She studied medicine at Georgetown University in Washington. She specialized in Pediatrics at Georgetown University and in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She has served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Medical School. She received her PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens.

Since 2002, she has been working at the First Pediatric Clinic of the University Hospital for Children “Agia Sophia”, responsible for liver diseases and liver transplants, and since 2003 she is the Director of Children’s Gastroenterology department of ‘Mitera’ children’s hospital. Over the past three years she has been volunteering as a pediatrician in the Aegean islands.

Dimitris Kardoulas

Specializes in vascular ultrasound.

He studied Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras and obtained his BSc and then an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He obtained a Doctorate (PhD) in medical imagery from the Medical School of the University of Crete. He has 50 publications in foreign and Greek magazines and 100 participations in round tables on vascular and vascular imaging.

He teaches at the postgraduate program on vascular surgery and endovascular techniques of the Medical School of the University of Athens, at the undergraduate program, and also at the Master of Ultrasound and Functional Imaging for the Prevention and Diagnosis of Vascular Diseases of the Medical School of the University of Thessaly.

Since 1986, he engages in the bloodless diagnosis of vascular diseases and works at Euroclinic Athens, Digital Tomography, Athens Cardiology, and Biodiagnosis.

Dorotheos Samoladas

Dorotheos Samoladas is a corporate lawyer, co-managing partner of the Greek law firm, Sarantitis, since 2004. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens and has also completed post-graduate studies in commercial law, in the UK (LL.M Soton).

Dorotheos Samoladas has been practicing law since 1993 and is a member of the Athens Bar and the InternaIonal Bar Association. He has a wide-ranging practice in corporate, M & A, restructuring and general commercial law, advising strategic and financial investors, in such transactions, as well as on joint ventures, takeover bids, IPOs, privatizations, commercial contracts and regulatory compliance. He is also active in commercial litigation, representing mainly corporate clients. Dorotheos Samoladas has been acting for public and private companies, some of Greece’s leading business figures, as well as large multinational corporate clients, banks and high net-worth individuals. He is ranked as a recommended Greek business lawyer, by all major international legal directories, like Chambers, Legal500, Best Lawyers. According to the research of, he was selected by his peers, as Lawyer of the Year 2013, for Athens, in the practice area of Mergers & Acquisitions.

He has been appointed as a BoD member, in various companies, including an appointment by the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, as a BoD member, in the bank New TT Postbank. Since 2014, he has been a BoD member of the multinational industrial Group M.J.Maillis.

Sergios Arniakos


He studied Mechanical Engineer at Imperial College of London and pursued his postgraduate studies in Marine Engineering at University College of London and Economics at City University Business School.

He began his career at ABN AMRO in the shipping division and then he worked as a derivative trader at Knight Capital in London.

In 2001, he returned to Greece and worked as head of the trading division of Piraeus Stock Exchange, a position he held for eleven years. Since 2015, he works as an executive at Neptune Lines shipping company.

He has a special relation with the sea and motor boats with more than 30 years of experience, and has voluntarily participated as a pilot in crossings in the Aegean and the Ionian seas.

Melina Travlos

Advisor to the BOD

Melina Travlos is the President and CEO of Neptune Lines Shipping and Managing Enterprises SA, a leading finished vehicle logistics provider, offering transportation and shipping solutions to manufacturers and shippers of vehicles for more than 4 decades.

Melina Travlos is the Secretary of the BoD of the Union of Greek Shipowners, while also being a Member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and a Member of the Greek National Committee of DNV-GL Classification Society. In addition, she serves as a Member of the BoD of the Hellenic Mutual War Risks Association (Bermuda) Limited, and as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Northeastern University of Boston. Melina Travlos is the President of the Executive Committee of Malta International Shipowners Association and since 2009, she is serving as the Honorary Consul of Denmark in Piraeus.

Melina Travlos is an active advocate of social welfare, and as such, she is a founding member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of SYN-ENOSIS, as well as a founding member of AXION Hellas. Melina Travlos holds a Business Administration Degree from Northeastern University, Boston, and speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Sandi Korma

She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens. She got her specialty in pediatrics at the First University Clinic of Agia Sophia Children Hospital. Since 2007, she is attending doctor of the Pediatric Clinic of Mitera hospital. Since 2012, she has been actively involved in medical volunteer groups for residents of remote islands.

Giorgos Charonis

Deputy Member of the BOD

He studied medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He specialized in Ophthalmology at Louisville University and has a sub-specialty in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, eyebrow, and teardrop device at UCLA in the US. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, is Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Visiting Professor of Ophthalmology at UCLA. He has a Ph.D. from Medical School of the University of Athens and he is the co-founder of Athens Vision Medical Center of Ophthalmology.

He has served as President of the Greek Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is Special Secretary of the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society and Vice President of the Hellenic College of Ophthalmology.
