Vassilis Pateras studied shipping at Morley College in London and Business Administration at the American College of London and currently works in the maritime industry. He has served in the Hellenic Navy SealTeams. He is an offshore world champion of the Round Britain 2008 Power Boat Race and a record holder of the Round of Britain. Vassilis Pateras was ranked 6thin the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC 2011), a well-knownTransatlantic Sailing Race. He has been actively involved in volunteering since 2007 as a rib skipper in the Aegean islands and as fleet commander in charity missions since 2014.
Dr. Zellou completed her medical degree at Georgetown University, where she also received her specialty in Pediatrics. She also received the sub-specialty of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and her PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens. She currently works at the Pediatric Clinic of “Agia Sophia”, where she is responsible for liver diseases and liver transplants. Dr. Zellou is the head of the Children’s Gastroenterology Department of “Mitera” Hospital. Over the past four years she has been volunteering as a pediatrician in the Aegean Islands.
Dr. Kardoulas studied Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras and obtained his BSc and then an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He earned a PhD in medical imagery from the Medical School of the University of Crete. Dr. Kardoulas has 50 publications in foreign and Greek magazines and 100 participation in roundtables on vascular and vascular imaging. He currently teaches at the postgraduate program on vascular surgery and endovascular techniques of the Medical School of the University of Athens, at the undergraduate program, and the Master of Ultrasound and Functional Imaging for the Prevention and Diagnosis of Vascular Diseases of the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. During his free time, Dr. Kardoulas volunteers in Axion Hellas aiding in the diagnosis of vascular disease using vascular ultrasound.
Dorotheos Samoladas is a corporate lawyer, co-managing partner of the Greek law firm Sarantitis, since 2004. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens and has also completed post-graduate studies in commercial law in the University of Southampton in the UK. He is ranked as a recommended Greek business lawyer, by all major international legal directories (Chambers, Legal500, Best Lawyers). According to the research of BestLawyers.com, he was selected by his colleagues as Lawyer of the Year 2013, for Athens, in the practice area of Mergers & Acquisitions. During his free time, Dorotheos Samoladas spends a vast amount of time volunteering in Axion Hellas as a general secretary.
Sergios Arniakos is a mechanical Engineer graduate from Imperial College of London, with postgraduate studies in Marine Engineering at University College of London and Economics at City University Business School. He began his career at ABN AMRO in the shipping division and then worked as a derivative trader at Knight Capital in London. He is currently working as an executive at Neptune Lines Shipping and Managing Enterprises S.A. With more than 30 years of experience of motor boats and a close relationship with the sea, Sergios Arniakos volunteers as a pilot in the travels of Axion Hellas and as a treasurer.
President & CEO of Neptune Lines Shipping and Managing Enterprises S.A, offering transportation and shipping solutions for all vehicle manufacturers and major Logistics companies. Melina Travlos also serves as Secretary of the BoD of the Union of Greek Shipowners, President of the Executive Committee of Malta International Shipowners Association, Member of the Executive Committee of the Greek Chamber of Shipping, Member of Board of Directors of DNV-GL Greek Committee, Member of Board of Directors of Hellenic Mutual War Risks Association (Bermuda) Limited, Member of the Board of Trustees of Northeastern University, and Honorary Danish Consul in Piraeus. She holds a degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, and is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish. Melina Travlos is also actively involved in volunteer work, and she is the founding member of Axion Hellas.
Prince Nikolaos is a graduate of International Relations from the Brown University in the United States. During his studies, he served for one year in the British Army as a second lieutenant of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Cavalry Regiment. He has extensive experience in banking, communications and business consulting. From an early age, he has recently dedicated himself to photography and has completed several photo exhibitions in London, Doha and Melbourne. Prince Nicholas is a member of the Board of Directors of Knightsbridge Schools International, which was founded in 2008 to develop and operate a network of international schools around the world. He has been an active member of Axion Hellas since its inception.
Dr. Haronis studied medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and received the specialty of Ophthalmology at Louisville University. He received a sub-specialty in the aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, eyebrow and tear device in UCLA in the US. Dr. Haronis is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Visiting Professor of Ophthalmology at UCLA. He earned a PhD at the Athens University Medical School and is the co-founder of the Athens Vision Medical Center of Ophthalmology. Dr. Haronis has served as the President of the Greek Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is Special Secretary of the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society and Vice President of the Hellenic College of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Korma is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens, with a specialty in pediatrics at the First University Clinic of Agia Sophia Children’s Hospital. She is currently working as the attending doctor of the Pediatric Clinic of Mitera hospital. Since 2012, Dr. Korma has been actively involved in medical volunteer groups for residents of remote islands.
